High Efficiency Strategies:
All-electric, net-zero
Optimized Solar Orientation
The Amble is a 100% all-electric, net-zero operating carbon building in Steamboat Springs, developed with East-West Partners and 359 Design. Dake Collaborated was responsible for energy modeling and mechanical & plumbing design. The project uses passive strategies like optimized orientation, daylighting, and natural ventilation alongside high-performance mechanical systems. A key innovation: integrating the outdoor pool and spa heating into the building's central heat-pump loop, allowing recovered energy to be reused across systems. This rare solution for mountain multifamily projects, combined with advanced envelope design and Steamboat's Green Choice electrical grid, sets a new benchmark for sustainable resort living.
